'I've been thinking about “help” and what giving it really means,' said the yellow duck.

(Pause.)

'Oh,' said the brown bear.

(Pause.)

‘I’ve been thinking that if I think I'm helping someone, but my helping isn't really fixing the thing that needs helping, and I keep helping and helping, even though the thing that needs helping never gets fixed, then I'm not really helping, am I?' said the yellow duck.

(Pause.)

'Uh...' said the brown bear.

(Pause.)

'And I've been thinking that if I keep helping and helping, but never really help hard enough to fix the thing - then my helping is more about me and how it makes me feel than it is about you and the thing that needs fixing,' said the yellow duck. ‘Wouldn’t you say?’

(Pause.)

'You see?' said the yellow duck.

(Thinking.)

'I see,' sighed the brown bear.

(Pause.)

'So...' said the yellow duck.

(Silence.)

'Yes?' said the brown bear.

(Pause.)

‘Let me help you,' said the yellow duck.
